Client Service Associate

Dorthie Thompson is a Client Service Associate at Advisor Resource Council (ARC), where she works directly with clients as part of ARC’s centralized service model. In this role, Dorthie works to help provide a consistent, trusted point of contact for clients, supporting service requests, facilitating communication, and providing a high standard of care across every interaction. By integrating seamlessly with ARC-affiliated financial advisors, she helps deliver a streamlined, professional client experience that reflects ARC’s commitment to service excellence.

With nearly 20 years of experience in administrative and client-facing roles, Dorthie brings a calm, organized, and relationship-driven approach to her work. She retired from Mesquite Independent School District after 19 years, where she served as both a Deaf Education Interpreter and Finance Secretary at North Mesquite High School. These roles required discretion, precision, and the ability to support individuals with diverse needs.

Dorthie is fluent in American Sign Language, a unique skill set that underscores her commitment to clear communication, accessibility, and empathy. Her fluency and extensive experience working one-on-one with individuals help enable her to anticipate client needs, explain processes clearly, and provide attentive, personalized support. This differentiator helps reinforce ARC’s high-touch service philosophy.

She earned her Associate of Arts degree from Dallas College and entered the financial services industry in June 2025. Dorthie aligns closely with ARC’s belief in building long-term wealth through disciplined planning, proactive service, and thoughtful preparation for retirement.

Outside of the office, Dorthie values time with her family. She and her husband, Mitch, have been married for 44 years and have three children and nine grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoys reading, scrapbooking, and traveling, all interests that reflect her appreciation for connection, reflection, and new experiences.
